NSW: Rivkin loses appeal on conviction=3
The Crown had alleged 59-year-old RIVKIN bought 50,000 Qantas shares after hearing
of a potential merger between Qantas and the struggling Impulse Airlines.
A trial heard this constituted insider trading.
RIVKIN had served just one day of his custodial sentence before collapsing in his cell.
He was later diagnosed with benign brain tumours and has produced a series of medical
certificates which have kept him out of jail.
