Fed: indigenous taking up private sector jobs better - Abbott

Federal Workplace Relations Minister TONY ABBOTT says indigenous people are takingup private sector jobs under the government's Indigenous Employment Program.

Mr ABBOTT says employment and education outcomes are higher and more cost-effectivethan those achieved in previous programs.

He says over 12,000 jobs have been created for indigenous people, more than three quartersof them in the private sector.
